Open Your Heart is the space within the American Heart Association where Heart Ball donors can see, celebrate and live their investment in our mission.
With one out of every three U.S. adults affected by heart disease or stroke, we have a lot more to do before everyone has the same opportunity to live a long and healthy life. That’s what Open Your Heart is trying to achieve.

Andrea was a typical 8 year old who loved to play soccer and basketball. But she found it hard to catch her breath and exert energy. She was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and was placed on the pediatric heart transplant list last March.
On average, there are only about 500 pediatric heart transplant surgeries each year. It is still considered a rarity.
