Allison Harris's Story

Why am I awake?  I knew I was uncomfortable.  Why was Andrew awake at 3 am. when he asked me, “ What’s wrong?”.  I don’t know, maybe I slept wrong, both of my arms are radiating like a throbbing headache.  “Do you think it’s your heart?”  NOOOOOO!   “I’m going to get you some aspirin just incase”.....How could it be my heart, I’m thinking.  Both my arms hurt not just the left one.  My jaw doesn’t hurt.  I don’t have a crushing feeling in my chest.  I’m definitely not out of breath, geez, I was asleep. I’m only 44, I’m an aerobics instructor heaven sakes!

THANK YOU ANDREW FOR SAVING MY LIFE!  I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART

Now it’s my turn to help save a life....Please join me in this fundraiser

WHAT?  HOW COULD I HAVE HAD A HEART ATTACK?

Not only did I have a  heart attack, but I had to have 9 way bypass surgery.  I have always been athletic, ran AAU track, never smoked, was never over weight, always health conscience with my nutrition, went to the Dr. annually, never had high cholesterol. I wasn't 50 or above and had no pre symptoms,  but it happened anyway. I had, by all guidelines, 0% chance of having a heart attack, non the less, I had one at the age of 44.  I was teaching spin classes( with a heart zones certification from Sally Edwards, and emphasizing heart rate training to improve one's fitness) as well as sculpting, step, pilates, personal training, you name it.
                                       I FELT GREAT!!

Then while on vacation in Mexico at complete rest I had a heart attack. My doctors told me that if I hadn't been so fit, I might have suffered this attack in my 30's and it would more than likely have been fatal.

After surgery and rehab, I was anxious to get back to normal, to love, learn, and live life to the fullest. I thank God for everyday.

It is now my turn to give back

I love you my friends

Thank you so much for listening, with your help we can end this deadly disease.
